Last weekend, my girls took part in the Rhodesian Ridgeback Canicross Nationals \u2013 2025!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was Tris\u2019s (Skyllar GM by Qwandoya) second official race (the first was two years ago), and this time Raven (Cara Ravenna Gaudiwa Musana) also entered for the very first time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A\u00a0 huge thank you<\/strong> to Eli\u0161ka Miklu\u0161\u00e1kov\u00e1<\/span><\/span><\/span> and Miklu\u0161\u00e1k Petr<\/span><\/span><\/span> for taking the girls under their wings, training with them, and having the courage to bring them to the start line. I\u2019m incredibly proud of both the girls and their runners. \"\u2764\ufe0f\"<\/span><\/div>\n

Both dogs had a bit of a challenge racing without me \u2013 I had to stay hidden on the sidelines, which definitely made it tricky for them to focus. Tris had a tougher start than we hoped for, while Raven managed to handle it a little better.<\/div>\n

Despite the shaky beginning, Eli\u0161ka gave it her all and ran her socks off with Tris, finishing the 3.4 km course with an incredible pace of 3:50<\/strong>, earning 31st place out of 165 female runners<\/strong> and 5th among Ridgebacks<\/strong>! \"\ud83c\udfc5\"<\/span><\/div>\n

Raven and Petr, in their very first race together, did amazing too \u2013 running the 3.4 km with a pace of 4:56<\/strong>, taking 2nd place among Ridgeback male runners<\/strong>! \"\ud83e\udd48\"<\/span><\/div>\n

It\u2019s a huge challenge to run with dogs that aren\u2019t your own, and I\u2019m so grateful my girls had the opportunity to race even though I couldn\u2019t join them myself. They had such fun during their training \u2013 even trying new things like the scooter \u2013 and it\u2019s the best feeling seeing them happy and tired after each session.<\/div>\n

So proud of all of them for this wonderful experience, and who knows\u2026 maybe this is just the beginning of their new passion! \"\ud83d\ude0a\"<\/span>\"\ud83d\udc15\u200d\ud83e\uddba\"<\/span><\/p>\n
