Litter ‘D’ – Raven x Maverick

Cara Ravenna Gaudiwa Musana or Raven is out first GM baby that we kept at home from our own breeding. As a breeder, I have been waiting for this girl for many years and my dreams came true with Skye’s second litter. Thanks to this litter I will finally have a chance to have 3 generation of my own dogs under one roof (at least for some time anyway).

Raven is from out C-litter of 14 puppies (7 males, 7 females). The litter in which Raven was born succeeded with our 2nd attempt as our first try during full COVID lockdown did not work out (fresh semen insemination). After a very long and scary drive on New Years Eve through lock down Europe we managed to get to one of the greatest dogs I know – Derek, to attempt the mating as live cover. Our C-litter was very special due to the amazing combination of great personalities of the parents.

Raven was a little devil as a puppy and only sky was the limit. But from a wild child she grew into a great lady who is slowly taking on the responsibilities within the pack from her mother Skye. She was also the best friend to our Mawi. It was her who always managed to get him to play but she was also his reassurance point when he wasn’t feeling happy. When our little Tris arrived in the kennel, she became a mentor and while teaching Tris a lot of important things, she never thought twice to add some fun and games.

Raven’s litter was the first litter where I applied the Puppy Culture upbringing. We slowly also started adding some new sports, new for both me and her. Currently we enjoy agility, target training, and when I have enough strength we also run canicross. Dog shows are of course also a big part of our activities.

Maverick is a stunning livernose male with great pigmentation. He has a beautiful head with correct proportions and big ears. Maverick projects great charisma even when you see him in photos. When I was searching for a stud male for Raven, I wanted to find a male with great masculine head but at the same time a male that would have both elegance and great movement dynamics. Maverick is a strong male that flows in movement.

Maverick caught my attention not only for his great movement, pedigree and appearance. He has an amazing connection with his owner Becky. He gained his titles as owner handled male and it is a pleasure to watch them together. Apart from dog shows, Maverick and Becky also spend time doing obedience, agility and coursing. He is a great dogs with stable personality.
