Skye and her last show

At 10 years old, Skye entered what would become her final show at the start of last year, and we made the decision to retire her from the ring. Just a few days after sharing the news of her retirement, we found a lump with a confirmed mastocytoma.

The summer of 2025 turned into an emotional rollercoaster—especially for me. But Skye handled everything with incredible strength and grace. Through surgery, recovery, and with the support of our amazing friends, we slowly found our way back to everyday joys, holding onto hope for many more moments together.

Today, I’m so happy to say that Skye is full of life. She runs freely in the fields with the girls, embracing every moment as if nothing ever happened. Every now and then, I get that familiar feeling—wondering what it would be like to take her into the ring just one more time, because some days her energy is simply unstoppable.

But we know we made the right choice.
