RR Canicross Nationals 2025
Last weekend, my girls took part in the Rhodesian Ridgeback Canicross Nationals – 2025!
It was Tris’s (Skyllar GM by Qwandoya) second official race (the first was two years ago), and this time Raven (Cara Ravenna Gaudiwa Musana) also entered for the very first time.
A huge thank you to Eliška Miklušáková and Miklušák Petr for taking the girls under their wings, training with them, and having the courage to bring them to the start line. I’m incredibly proud of both the girls and their runners. 
Both dogs had a bit of a challenge racing without me – I had to stay hidden on the sidelines, which definitely made it tricky for them to focus. Tris had a tougher start than we hoped for, while Raven managed to handle it a little better.
Despite the shaky beginning, Eliška gave it her all and ran her socks off with Tris, finishing the 3.4 km course with an incredible pace of 3:50, earning 31st place out of 165 female runners and 5th among Ridgebacks! 
Raven and Petr, in their very first race together, did amazing too – running the 3.4 km with a pace of 4:56, taking 2nd place among Ridgeback male runners! 
It’s a huge challenge to run with dogs that aren’t your own, and I’m so grateful my girls had the opportunity to race even though I couldn’t join them myself. They had such fun during their training – even trying new things like the scooter – and it’s the best feeling seeing them happy and tired after each session.
So proud of all of them for this wonderful experience, and who knows… maybe this is just the beginning of their new passion!
